Hey! I'm Taryn.

I’m a neuroscientist turned product designer with over 3 years of experience specialising in systems thinking, accessible design, and scalable design systems.

Before stepping into design, I spent 4 years in financial services — leading teams, driving change, and navigating the messy realities of customer service, remediation, and compliance. That experience shaped how I design today: with empathy, precision, and a deep respect for real-world complexity.

Why I do what I do.

I aim to eliminate any sh*t experience in my way - regardless of if I was working in hospitality or navigating financial services, I’ve always been driven to fix what doesn’t work or could work better.

I’m fuelled by curiosity and caffeine. And at the end of the day, design isn’t just a way to afford my ever-inflating morning coffee. It’s how I engage with the world: constantly empathising, spotting problems, and crafting solutions.

But who is Taryn?
No, really tell me something fun.

I’m a first-generation immigrant, neurodiverse, queer — and a designer.

I live my life persistently aware of how good design could have made my day (or someone else’s) just a little better.

I’m constantly observing, thinking, and ideating to solve everyday problems — whether it’s crafting designs that users and stakeholders love, or organising the most obscure drawer in my house.

I’m fuelled by curiosity, spreadsheets, an obsession with personal finance, and most importantly... caffeine.

My Notion is a masterpiece of life admin.

I’ve built epic, interactive, and visually appealing digital designs but also built simple, clean enterprise software where users get from start to end like cutting through butter with a hot knife.

I’m basically a builder and I’d go as far as to say... I know my way around a Bunnings.

I love a challenge, to be challenged and to sit in discomfort - after all, discomfort and fear is growth.

Two truths and a lie

I spend my time documenting my life on 35mm, 120mm and Super8 film.

I went to the same primary school as the Princess of Monaco, just 18 years apart.

I would never lie.
